Biography:

Kirsti joined the MRC Toxicology Unit in November 2020 as the ITTP and Industrial Liaison Manager. Kirsti previously worked at the Babraham Institute as a Senior Research Scientist, at Babraham Bioscience Technologies as a Senior Postdoctoral Scientist, in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham as a Lecturer, at the University of Nottingham as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and in the Department of Oncology/MRC Toxicology Unit at the University of Leicester as a Research Assistant. Kirsti completed her PhD at the Babraham Institute in Cell Signalling and both her BSc and MRes in Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of Leicester.

Kirsti runs the Integrated Toxicology Training Partnership (ITTP) PhD programme which is a UK-wide training programme for capacity building in Toxicology. Kirsti oversees the Toxicology Unit’s knowledge transfer and exchange activities, particularly the Unit's engagement activities with Industry. Kirsti is Co-Chair of the Postgraduate Education Committee providing support to the Unit's postgraduate students.
