The MRC Toxicology Unit aims to maximise the impact of its cutting-edge research through knowledge transfer and exchange (KTE) to deliver benefits to both human health and the economy.

Research in toxicology is important as it has the potential to impact everyone through:

  • The application of safety science by pharmaceutical, consumer goods and chemical companies for the development of safer drugs, products, and chemicals.
  • The application of exposure science to provide evidence to regulatory authorities for decision making to limit exposure to harmful substances for the protection of human health and the environment.
