Our 'DNA damage in liver cells' temporary tattoo was designed for the Aitken lab to represent their research as part of the Tattoo my Science project.

DNA damage in liver cells

Every day our cells are exposed to toxins. Our liver's job is to break down and remove things like medicines and other chemicals that shouldn't be in our blood. But just by doing their job, liver cells are more at risk to damage of their DNA which can lead to diseases like cancer.

We study how our liver cells and their DNA are damaged by the world around us so that we can find better ways to treat cancer and the other diseases it causes.
