DNA

Our DNA contains all the instructions that our cells need to stay alive and do their jobs. So, any damage or stress that happens to our DNA can cause a range of problems which can lead to many different diseases.

Our scientists are studying what might happen to our DNA, and understanding its instructions, if it is damaged by certain medicines or pollution for example, and what that means for our bodies. By studying this, we can find better ways to stop the damage and treat diseases.
