Biography:
I studied and got my MSc in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies at the University of Padua, working on a thesis in Prof. Margherita Morpurgo Lab, about the delivery of drugs using nanoparticles. After that, I did my Ph.D. in Prof. Michael Y Sherman lab in Israel. During my studies, I tried to understand how the HSP70-Bag3 complex would transduce the proteotoxic stress signal to different pathways, taking as an example the Hippo-YAP pathway. In March 2023, I joined the Sawarkar group, following my interest in understanding how cells respond to stress, in specific proteotoxic stress, at in vitro and in vivo levels.
Research interests:
In my period with the Sawarkar group, I will be trying to understand the role of proteostasis in cell size control, and I will try to understand how stress can impact the homeostasis of the cell size, at in vitro and in vivo levels.
