The immune system plays a fundamental role in maintaining tissue homeostasis, and its dysfunction has profound impact on health - most immediate in autoimmune diseases, cancers and allergies. I am interested in unravelling the dynamics of the system to address immediate problems affecting our health. Why is our immune system so active in autoimmune diseases, but less so against cancer? Why is there an epidemic of people responding to allergens?
