During June, the MRC Toxicology Unit, Department of Biochemistry, Department of Pharmacology, and the Gurdon Institute joined together for Pride Month with a series of events to support LGBTQIA+ staff and students. This is part of a new a new phase of collaboration among the Departments on Tennis Court road to encourage students and staff to get to know each other, promote collaboration and share resources.
All four departments hosted a range of events that included t-shirt decorating, a quiz, bracelet making, a lecture and happy hour. We also brought our decorated t-shirts, bracelets and posters to the Cambridge Pride March which had a great turn out and fabulous weather! We hope to do a similar coordinated effort for the next Pride month as well as uniting for other events and seminars throughout the year.
