The Flow Cytometry Facility has three analytical cytometers including one with plate-reading.
Examples of application:
- Immunophenotyping
- Cell cycle
- Proliferation assays
- Apoptosis and cell viability assays
Instruments available:
- BD Fortessa LSR (5 lasers, can detect up to 16 colours at once)
- BD Fortessa LSR with high-throughput sampler (4 lasers, can detect up to 18 colours at once) – able to take 96-well plates for analysis of cells in suspension and acquire 40,000 events per second
- BD FACS Canto II (2 lasers, can detect up to 6 fluorescent signals)
The analysers are user-operated but all users require at least one training session before they can be used independently. Training should be requested by contacting cytometry@mrc-tox.cam.ac.uk.
