The histopathology facility offers a full range of standard and advanced tissue methods and in situ assays, which are made available to users within and outside the Toxicology Unit.

In particular, we have developed expertise in multiplex assays for both protein and nucleic acids (IHC/ISH) which can be applied singly or as multiplex assays, both chromogenically and by fluorescence. Quantitative data are generated by manual, semi-automated, or fully automated image analytical methods using a range of hardware and software platforms.

When applied to experimental or archival tissues, or to large tissue collections in tissue microarrays, these methods generate large volumes of raw image, quantitative, or semi-quantitative data for use by groups within the Toxicology Unit or external collaborators and clients.

The Histopathology core facility is led by Dr. Sarah Aitken.
