Biography

Malina is a first-year PhD student in Dr Sarah Aitken’s lab. She has completed her BSc in Biomedical Science at the University of Sheffield. She obtained a distinction from the University of Manchester where she studied for a MSc in Tissue Engineering for Regenerative Medicine, where she investigated protein-protein interactions in the context of osteoarthritis.

Research interests

Malina’s research interests involve liver organoids as screening platforms for medicines and disease modelling. Her project aims to identify factors that contribute to hepatocyte maturation, which would improve the reliability of toxicology studies.
