Biography:

Jose studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Murcia (Spain) where he also obtained his PhD on experimental haematology. He then continued his research on haematology in the US and UK where he has been leading multiple projects on the role of blood platelets in haemostasis, thrombosis, inflammation and cancer. More recently, Jose has focused on the secretory granules of platelets and other immune cells and their defects in a rare bleeding and immune disorder. He joined the Chapman group to lead oncology and immunology research programs where he is involved in the identification of new therapeutic targets for multiple myeloma and investigate their molecular and cellular function.
