Biography:

After obtaining her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Physiology from Sheffield University, Cathy began her career in research, studying mechanisms of asbestos toxicity. Cathy then transferred into laboratory management before becoming a health and safety manager. She now has approximately 15 years’ experience in laboratory safety management and HTA compliance.

In the Toxicology Unit Cathy is the Departmental Safety Officer and Biological Safety Officer, overseeing and providing guidance for the management of all aspects of health and safety and research compliance in the Unit.
