Translation of disease associated regions into pathogenic molecular mechanisms with clinically relevant potential is currently a key issue of Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS).

We have developed a novel statistical method (Locus Spider) which implements a network based optimization principles to prioritize genes and to figure out molecular mechanisms implicated by the disease associated loci. The procedure is based on obvious biological principals and translates a set of disease associated loci into a disease specific gene sub-network. For more details please visit BioProfiling.de.
